The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Roumieh inmates slash themselves - April 19, 2011

Three inmates in Roumieh Prison slashed themselves, reported the National News Agency (NNA) on Tuesday.
The report said that the three injured men were transported to a hospital.
However, according to the NNA, the situation in the prison is calm.
Inmates in Roumieh Prison and their families have demonstrated in April, demanding an improvement in prison conditions and the expediting of inmates’ trials.
