The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Germany donates €2.5 million for Syrian refugees, April 1st 2012


Germany announced on Sunday that it donated a further €2.5 million ($3.3 million) for the relief efforts to aid Syrian refugees, according to the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA).
The report added that the latest donation increased the total donated by Germany to fund humanitarian assistance for Syrian refugees to €5.7 million ($7.6 million).
Thousands of Syrians have fled the unrest in their country, which according to the UN has left over 9,000 people dead since protests erupted in strife-stricken Syria in mid-March 2011.
