The Daily Star - SKeyes condemns attack on MTV news crew, July 21 2012

BEIRUT: The SKeyes media center denounced an attack on a news crew from MTV Friday, while praising the “solidarity” shown by rival station OTV. The center blamed the Thursday attack on supporters of the Free Patriotic Movement, who were gathered in front of the Energy Ministry to object to an ongoing strike by contract workers at Electricite du Liban which they described as an “occupation of a state institution.” The center praised the behavior of a news team from the FPM’s OTV, which came to the aid of the MTV crew, calling it an example of adhering to professional ethics. Members of the OTV crew were roughed up during the commotion. The attack was condemned by the March 14 coalition, the non-governmental organization Maharat, Information Minister Walid Daouk and the Lebanese Forces.
