The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Fire at Syrian refugee center in Sidon doused, May 07, 2015



A fire broke out Thursday at a four-story building housing Syrian refugees in the southern city of Sidon.

Firefighters, backed by seven trucks and several ambulances, were able to douse the blaze at the Ouzai building a short time later after evacuating more than 400 refugees.

Three girls suffered minor burns, according to medics.

A firefighter was injured after falling off his truck while dousing the blaze. He suffered a head injury and was taken to a local hospital.
