The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Red Cross, Civil Defense save man who fell in well - August 12, 2011


BEIRUT: Red Cross and Civil Defense workers rescued a man shortly after he fell into a well in the village of Alma in Zghorta, the National News Agency reported Thursday.
According to the NNA, Antoine Azar fell into a 25-meter well early Thursday morning in a field near his home in the village of Alma.
Azar’s relatives heard his cries for help and notified both the Civil Defense and the Red Cross Mountain Rescue Unit, who were immediately able to rescue Azar.
