iloubnan - Marouni: Thursday's explosion anticipated security message - August 12, 2011

Deputy Elie Marouni said on Friday to "Voice of Lebanon" radio that what happened yesterday was an anticipated security message because "we are living within indications that point to the return of assassinations spate".

Marouni added that Interior Ministry Marwan Charbel's story (that both men were trying to plant a bomb to target a third person who owes them money)  did not convince anyone, pointing out that the explosion coincided with the major developments concerning the tribunal's files.

Marouni considered that all the assassinations are connected to the assassination of Martyr Rafik Hariri.

Two people that were believed to have been handling explosives, were killed on Thursday in a blast that took place in a parking lot, near a commercial centre in Antelias.
