The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

NOW Lebanon - Investigation into suicide of Ethiopian domestic worker ongoing, March 14, 2012


The National News Agency reported on Wednesday that the investigation into the case of the Ethiopian domestic worker who committed suicide earlier on Wednesday was ongoing. 

Last week, LBC television station broadcast a
 video showing the woman lying in a bush on the side of the street, moaning and crying as a group of men stood over her. The video then shows a man shoving the women into his car against her will.   

She committed suicide at Deir as-Salib mental health clinic where she had been hospitalized.
