BEIRUT: An inmate from Lebanon’s Roumieh prison set himself on fire Sunday morning, then died from the burns, according to a security source.
Baalbek resident Mohammad Zaytar, 40, set himself on fire around 10 a.m. Sunday. The source said that the prison guards, who were asleep from fasting at the time of the incident, sent him to the hospital about two hours later, where he died from the burns.
