The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Woman killed, son, daughter injured in road accident - August 08, 2011


BEIRUT: A woman was killed and her son and daughter injured in an overnight road accident in the Dahr al-Wahsh village near Aley southeast of Beirut.
A security source told The Daily Star Monday that a van with a Syrian license plate struck a Kia driven by Beshara al-Habr with his mother and sister inside shortly after midnight Sunday.
The source said 80-year-old Rene al-Habr, Habr’s mother, was killed instantly. Habr and his sister, Kleir, were injured in the crash.
The driver of the van fled the scene.
