The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Eight people arrested for drug possession, September 17, 2011

BEIRUT: Eight people, including a Lebanese Army soldier, were arrested Friday on suspicion of blasphemy and drug possession in Mount Lebanon.A judicial source said that the detainees are believed to be “devil worshippers.”The suspects – five of whom are male and three female, all under the age of 25 – were also found to be self-harming.Military Judge Saqr Saqr will charge the eight Saturday, according to the source. The crime is punishable under Penal Code articles that prohibit blasphemy and immoral conduct.
