The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Charities distribute aid to 900 Syrian families, february, 24, 2012


BEIRUT: A group of charitable organizations said Thursday they had distributed food rations and baby formula to 900 Syrian refugee families in Akkar, on a day of solidarity with refugees from the ongoing Syrian conflict.
Zeid Mohammad Bakkar Zakariya, head of the Coalition of Charity Organizations to Aid Syrian Refugees in Lebanon said that according to the coalition’s statistics, there are some 3,000 families of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, or more than 15,000 people.
Zakariya said that 3,000 more food rations would be distributed in the coming days.
