The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Naharnet - Detainee Quarrels with Security Forces at Justice Palace, October 3 2012


A man, who was detained on charges of abusing drugs, quarreled with security guards at the Justice Palace in Baabda after he threatened to escape, the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Mohammed Shokr wounded on Monday night one of the guards using a metal blade and set mattresses in his cell on fire.
Shokr is likely to be accused of attempting to break detention and assaulting an Internal Security Forces member.
