The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Lebanese sentenced to 15 years for contacting Israel - February 14, 2011

BEIRUT: The Military Tribunal sentenced Friday a Lebanese in absentia to 15 years of hard labor for contacting Israel. The court, headed by Brigadier Nizar Khalil, also fined Haidar Mohammad Awada LL2 million and stripped him of his civil rights after he was accused of contacting Israeli authorities, entering Israel and obtaining Israeli nationality. In other news, the same tribunal postponed until May 27 the trial of detainee Shahid Toumiyya due to his presence in hospital for medical treatment after suffering from mental and psychological problems. The Lebanese Army lieutenant colonel was accused of collaborating with Israel and taking advantage of his post to provide Israeli authorities with important information and precise coordinates of extremely secret military and security headquarters, providing information about official and leading figures and of entering Israel. –The Daily Star
