The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

April 29, 2010 - Naharnet - Lebanon Remains of Syrian soldiers returned home

Lebanon on Wednesday handed over to Syrian authorities the remains of two soldiers

killed in clashes with Israel at the height of Lebanon's 1975-1990 civil war, the army said.
"The Lebanese army has conducted an official transfer ceremony for the remains of Syrian soldiers Bader Nawras Kanjo and Ibrahim Hammoud Teeni who were martyred in the eastern Bekaa Valley in 1982 during clashes with the Israeli enemy," a statement said.

The remains were found last week by a farmer cultivating his land in the eastern town of Mdoukha.(AFP)
