The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: Hundreds of residents of the impoverished neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh in the north Lebanon coastal city of Tripoli staged a demonstration over the weekend to demand the release of Syrian refugees who are reportedly being held by the Lebanese Army.The demonstrators also voiced support for anti-government protesters in Syria. Demonstrators brandished banners in support of anti-regime protesters in Syria and chanted support for the Syrian regions of Daraa and Banias, which have witnessed deadly violence.
