Naharnet - Withholding STL Funding Won't Work, Report - September 29, 2010

Ministerial sources said that U.N. Resolution 1757 under which the Special Tribunal for Lebanon was established allows for considering other sources of funding in the event Lebanon did not pay its share of 49 percent.
They said 1757 had predicted it could reach this point.

"Thus, withholding STL funding will not work," one ministerial source said in remarks published Wednesday by pan-Arab daily Al-Hayat.

He said the Opposition's insistence not to approve STL funding will "only delay (State) budget and cripple the Government."
