Now Lebanon - Jisr: STL did not lose its credibility - September 27, 2010

Lebanon First bloc MP Samir al-Jisr told Al-Markaziya news agency on Monday that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) did not lose its credibility.
President Michel Sleiman said on Sunday that the STL needs to “restore its credibility with the public by avoiding politicization.”
Sleiman’s words may aim to calm issues, Jisr said, voicing his disappointment over Hezbollah MPs’ recent statements, particularly Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Nawwaf al-Moussawi’s Friday statement.
The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP said that any group in Lebanon which “abides by the STL’s [pending] indictment will be dealt with on the basis that it is one of the tools of US-Israeli aggression.”
Jisr also denied reports that protests are being organized in Tripoli to reject Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s upcoming visit to Beirut.
The Iranian president is expected to visit Lebanon in mid-October.
