The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Suspending Lebanon’s funding to STL might not stop it, Abboud says - September 27, 2010








The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) will not necessarily halt its work if Lebanon suspends its funding to the tribunal, Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud told Future News on Monday. Tension is currently high in Lebanon as some March 8 coalition politicians are calling for the abolition of the STL, while Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun and former head of General Security Jamil as-Sayyed have publicly attacked the government. March 8 MPs have opposed STL funding in parliamentary committee discussions of the 2010 state budget.
