August 17, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Mirza submits material received from Hezbollah to STL

The National News Agency (NNA) reported on Tuesday that Attorney General Judge Said Mirza received from Hezbollah official Wafik Safa a file containing the information requested by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) last week, which might be linked to the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

The NNA said that Mirza transferred the file to STL Prosecutor General Daniel Bellemare’s office in Lebanon.

The STL last Wednesday called for the submission of all material held by Hezbollah relating to the Rafik Hariri case after a Monday press conference during which Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah showed video footage and the confession of an alleged spy, which he said implicate Israel in the assassination.
