Now Lebanon - Adwan says granting Palestinians work permits far from naturalization

Lebanese Forces bloc MP George Adwan said that parliament’s Tuesday decision to grant Palestinian refugees in Lebanon the right to free-of-charge work permits caters to their needs and at the same time is far from naturalization, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Tuesday.

He said that the parliamentary blocs came up with the best possible decision on the Palestinian issue after much deliberation, adding Tuesday’s parliament session was productive.

Adwan also said that the MPs also discussed the issue of electricity shortages in the country, and added that the matter must be dealt with immediately.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on Tuesday that the cabinet approved an electricity plan as well as $1 billion to support the electricity field in Lebanon.

Residents in North and South Lebanon blocked roads in protest of power cuts in their regions on Sunday and Monday.
