August 18, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Cabinet unlikely to discuss STL false witnesses

An-Nahar newspaper on Wednesday reported that the cabinet is unlikely to tackle during its session later in the day the issue of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s (STL) false witnesses who gave testimonies on the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Agriculture Minister Hussein al-Hajj Hassan told LBCI television on Tuesday that the cabinet will discuss the matter.
The cabinet is expected to meet Wednesday at 11:00 am in President Michel Sleiman's summer residence in the Beiteddine Palace in the Chouf.

All ministers have the right to suggest an issue to be discussed, the source said, adding that it is in Sleiman’s jurisdiction to decide whether the matter would be discussed or not.
