Now Lebanon - As-Safir: Najjar submitted false witnesses report - September 22, 2010

As-Safir newspaper reported Wednesday that Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar—who was absent from Tuesday’s cabinet session—has submitted his report on the issue of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s (STL) false witnesses to the relevant authorities.

The report describes the witnesses as not credible, said the daily, adding that it details how each case should be handled legally.

The cabinet delegated Najjar to follow up on the issue last month. However, March 8 coalition parties—including Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement—have called for the formation of a Lebanese commission to follow up on the issue of the false witnesses.
