The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Ban voices support of STL - September 21, 2010

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon voiced his support of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), calling on all parties to cooperate with the tribunal, Al-Jazeera television reported on Tuesday.

“The international judiciary should be respected,” Ban said.

Tension is high in Lebanon after reports said that the STL will soon issue its indictment into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
