Now Lebanon - Even Obama incapable of stopping STL, says source - September 17, 2010

“The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL)’s pending indictment will not be postponed. Even US President Barack Obama is not capable of stopping the tribunal,” said an unnamed diplomatic source that was quoted by As-Safir newspaper on Friday.

“I am not aware of the date set to issue the indictment, but there will be one,” the source said, adding that any attempt to postpone issuing the court’s verdict will be futile.

Tension ran high in Lebanon after reports said that the STL will soon issue its indictment into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in July that the STL will indict Hezbollah members.
