The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Sheikh Omar Bakri Fustoq charged with terrorism, June 09, 2014

Following an investigation, First Military Investigative Judge Riad Abu Ghaida pressed charges against Salafi Sunni cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Fustoq for belonging to a terrorist organization, the National News Agency reported.


The judge also accused Fustoq of training youths to use weapons and explosives, working to establish an Islamic emirate in North Lebanon, and giving speeches and religious courses that included insults against the state and the army.


Fustoq was also charged with instigating civil war.
