Now Lebanon - March 14 figures discuss Palestinian rights

Lebanon First bloc leader MP Fouad Siniora hosted a meeting of March 14 alliance members in his office on Monday, during which they discussed granting Palestinian refugees in Lebanon certain rights, Al-Markaziya news agency reported.

The issue of Palestinian rights sparked debate after Democratic Gathering bloc leader MP Walid Jumblatt submitted a proposal to parliament on June 15 to grant Palestinian refugees in Lebanon civil rights. The majority of Christian MPs voted against the bill.

March 14 has held several meetings since then in order to discuss the issue and formulate draft legislation on the matter.

Monday’s meeting included representatives of the Kataeb Party, Lebanese Forces and Future Movement. March 14 General Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soueid also attended, Al-Markaziya reported.
