The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Rahhal signs environmental agreement with ECODIT

Environment Minister Mohammad Rahhal signed an agreement with ECODIT—a worldwide environmental services company—for the firm to assess the status of the pollution in Lebanon, according to a statement issued by the minister’s office.

Rahhal said that ECODIT will provide the ministry with a detailed report of the water and environmental pollution affecting Lebanon’s agriculture.

“The [ECODIT] reports is very important and should be issued every two or three years,” he said, adding the last time such a report was published was 10 years ago.
