The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Civil Defense save Ethiopian in failed suicide attempt, April 15, 2014

Civil Defense personnel in the southern town of Tyre saved Monday an Ethiopian maid after she jumped off her employer’s balcony in an apparent suicide attempt.

The Ethiopian woman, identified as Ruby, was obstructed by iron wires on the first floor. Civil Defense personnel were successful in saving Ruby, who emerged unscathed.

She was taken to the Qana police station and questioned about what prompted her to attempt to take her own life.
